Nothing beats a T-bone steak. Well, one thing does, and that's a smoked T-bone. We've put the Traeger stamp on this classic recipe.

Ingredients

  • 4 (14-16 oz) each T-bone steaks
  • 4 tbsp Butter, at room temperature
  • 4 tbsp Butter, at room temperature

Preparation

Season the steaks on both sides with Traeger Prime Rib Rub.

When ready to cook, start the Traeger according to grill instructions. Set the grill temperature to Smoke (set to Super Smoke mode if using a WiFIRE-enabled grill) and preheat, lid closed 10 minutes.

Arrange the steaks on the grill grate and smoke for 35-45 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 115 degrees F when an instant read thermometer is inserted into the thickest part. Remove steaks from grill.

Turn the grill temperature up to 450 degrees F (set to 500 degrees F if using a WiFIRE-enabled grill) and preheat, lid closed for 10 to 15 minutes.

When the grill comes to temperature, sear steaks for 3-4 minutes per side or until they reach an internal temperature of 135 degrees F for medium-rare.

Remove from grill and top with a pat of butter. Let steaks rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
